Weekend Wear – Holding on to Summer

Everybody’s working for the weekend! Even though this is a weekend post you are currently viewing my work outfit from Wednesday. I am craving fall weather, but the earth seems to want to hold onto summer just a little bit longer. It was 80 in NYC that day.

To feel fall, but to stay cool I opted for a heavier cardigan over a sleeveless chambray top with a printer trouser (secret: they aren’t really trousers…they’re leggings that appear and feel like trousers!) and my classic black pumps. It wouldn’t be me without something fun and bright so I added my favorite statement necklace and earrings in bright pink and orange. Oh and how could I forget my bubble gum pink nails. Pops of pink are going to be huge this fall, but think on the softer side.

Cardigan: Forever 21 (Fall 2012)
Chambray Top: Forever 21 (Summer 2013)
Clutch: Forever 21 (Fall 2013)
Printer Trouser (Leggings): Uniqlo (Holiday 2012)
Black Pump: Nine West (Fall 2012)
Jewelry: J. Crew Outlet (Spring 2012)

Wardrobe Wednesday – Get the Look

I love when celebrities design a clothing line or endorse a brand that’s accessible to their fans. As much as I love looking at ads of Jennifer Lawrence in Dior, I know I will never be able to afford what she’s wearing. I’m a huge fan of the Olsen Twin’s Elizabeth and James, but you won’t catch me in any of their fall 2013 line.

During my hours of strolling the internet looking for inspiration I came across to celebs wearing clothes you can buy at Kmart, yes, you heard me right… Kmart!

Sofia Vergara’s line for Kmart is truly for the real woman. It isn’t made for a stick figure (have you seen her latest commercial asking for “more boobiness”? I love her!) and it comes at a price real women can afford.

Annasophia Robb is cute as a button and I love her as young Carrie especially after reading The Carrie Diaries.  She is the new face of Bongo an affordable juniors line you can get at Kmart and Sears. It’s affordable to be this stylish.

Weekend Wear – Wardrobe Additions

This is my first post of a picture of myself posing in one of my outfits. As you can tell I was ill prepared at 7:15 in the morning. I FORGOT to put on LIPSTICK?! I was a little nervous taking this.  I’m not made of money so a lot of my clothes are re-purposed from previous seasons and/or years. So I won’t tell you how much or exactly where to get some of them, but I can help you make a great outfit with some of the stuff just lying around in your closet. Each season you just need to add few new pieces to liven things up a bit.

When shopping for the fall season this year I had three must have items on my list. Two of which are displayed here. My new leather jacket and combat boots. With a little thrifty shopping I even scored both in designer brands for more than half the price. Thanks Nordstrom Rack for my Guess Jacket and thank you Marshall’s for my Betsey Johnson Boots. Don’t you just love the feminine ruffle along the laces? Who says you have to be rich to be fabulous! I think these pieces make a great addition to this outfit I sported quite often last fall. It looks fresh.

Jacket: Guess
Sweater: American Eagle (spring 2011)
Pants: Forever 21 (Fall 2012)
Necklace: Forever 21 (Winter 2012)
Boots: Betsey Johnson
